6th Grade...

Just thought I'd update everyone with the newest on the school stuff. As most of you know California has taken a big hit to their educational budget. Many programs are being cut back and there will be alot of changes to the schools next year. One big one for our area is what will be going on with next year's sixth graders here at Vandenberg. M has really enjoyed her time at VMS but with the changes next year we think it wouldn't be the best place for K. A "rumored" 40 students to 1 teacher ratio being a BIG concern among many other things. We just didn't get that "warm fuzzy feeling" about all the changes and have decided to enroll K in a different school next year. Here's the website if you'd like to check it out. She's very excited about attending, not to happy about uniforms again though. Her three best friends from class this year will be going there with her next year so she is looking very forward that. The next option was home schooling....yikes!

Wii...

Well, let me start by reminding everyone that I "thought" my girls weren't into video games. I knew K enjoyed playing but M has been bit by the Wii bug also. Here's a piture of them from 7:00 am this morning I usually have a hard time getting them out of bed, not today they were up and at it. OK, I will admit after P hooked it up last night we played for awhile....OK hours. How can you not?

One Year...

Today marks us being here at Vandenberg for one year. I know we say this all the time but the time really has flown by. We love it here and look forward to what the next year holds.

To nice to be inside....

I haven't blogged in awhile so I thought I better put something on before I get to far behind. It is beautiful outside today, high 70's low 80's most of the day so everyone is outside enjoying the day. P is helping a friend put a fence up, the girls are in the back yard with a group of friends and I am catching up on laundry and enjoying the piece and quite. I had a busy week with the food pantry so it's nice to just unwind do next to nothing. We have a few things going on this week but I will try to get some new pictures posted soon. I'm off to enjoy the day.
