Go Sox...

With the World Series over...Red Sox sweep it again...our lives can now go back to normal. Being stationed in Cape Cod you either become a Patriots fan (not happening we are sticking with out sinking ship) or a Red Sox fan. Of course, most of you know which way we went. M & K have been glued to the games for weeks now believe it or not. No Disney channel , no MTV just baseball and ESPN. Who would have thought that those two Girlie Girls would ever become such avid baseball fans with a good knowledge of the game and the players. I'm sure everyone is celebrating on the Cape today!

Pictures of me...

Lots of people have asked why there are no pictures of me and as Mom's we all know it's because we're the ones always taking the pictures. So this as good as I can do for now. No, I don't actually have one to post. But, if you follow the link I'm providing you can see a picture of me taken on the first night of Bunko. (Fun night!) It's the first one labled "The First Game". It's not the best picture but it's a picture. It's sad that I have to go somewhere without my family to have my picture taken. That's me back left corner...sitting down no less!

Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze...

Believe it or not but this was the first time for all of us going through a corn maze. We had a lot of fun. First time through we all went together then we spilt up into two groups. P&K and M & Me to see who could make it out first. Let's just say one team didn't cheat and P&K got out first.
M&K posing as usual

At times it was a bit like Children of the Corn...

Solvang...

This has been a busy weekend for us. P went to a Black Crowes concert with a friend of ours and his 16 year old son Saturday. Reliving his youth! They had alot of fun and we'll post pictures of it when I get them. Today we took a trip to Solvang and walked around a bit in town then headed to the Pumpkin Patch. Here are some pictures of the girls of course.

Misc. Pictures...

Hummingbird...
It doesn't matter that I have a larger beautiful feeder a couple feet from this one. They all seem to fight to get to this one. They are far from shy and are always buzzing by our heads.

M posing by one of our gardens. This garden is loaded with Lemon Balm, Spearmint, Chocolate Mint, Lavender and Rosemary. It smells so good when we water it!
K's favorite part of playing soccer. The snacks her and P have after the game. As you can see from the look on her face she was not ready for a picture.

Six months...

It doesn't seem possible that we have been here six months. Time is really flying by for us. The girls love it here. Both girls are doing great in school, have made tons of new friends and are enjoying the beautiful weather. As we all are. We have cut down on our hiking on base just because of the frequent mountain lion sitings. We did get to enjoy watching some whales off of Seal Beach this past weekend. We're assuming they were Blue Whales since there has been a group of them spotted in the area lately. With it being October everything "spouse" related has kicked off. It seems like I have something every week now between two Spouses Groups and the different clubs that meet. Big change from Cape Cod!!! Bunko started this past week and it was a great time. We'll be getting together once a month. Mah Jongg starts tomorrow morning, that's once a week. I am determined to learn this game before P retires!! It's years away so I'm giving myself some room there. I better run, it's half days for both girls all week. (School conferences....both girls are doing great!)

Housing update...

Two post in one day it's a miracle folks!

I'm posting the information on the demolition of the homes here on base. For anyone who's interested in seeing what the plan looks like. We are Phase 5 with a projected demo date of February 2010. Which means we will be able to stay in our home for the length of our time here. This can always change you know it's the AF were talking about. Either one of these two links will take you to the information that was provided.

Wow, it's been a month...

Well, almost a month. Time has really been flying by here. Not much new with us. The girls are doing great, enjoying school and everything else they're into. Bunko starts meeting this Friday and I am so excited to play. Yes, I am a little obsessed with playing this game. We're meeting more people here and still running into people we know from past assignments. It's still funny to see people's reactions when they see the girls again. Yes, they did grow up and I know M is 3 inches taller then me thanks for pointing it out. P starts his new job tomorrow. Looks like regular hours are out the window for the next year or so. Should be a great experience for him though. Luckily the girls are older this time...I think that's a good thing. LOL!
